British MPs back recognition of Palestine

Britain's Parliament is calling on the UK government to recognise Palestine as a state.

Politicians on Monday passed a vote that is non-binding and will not change government policy.

But it could have symbolic value for Palestinians in the pursuit of a country of their own.
