STORY: Actor Keanu Reeves is out for revenge in his new film "John Wick."
At the film's New York screening the actor, who stepped away from the American action film genre for a few years, was happy to make his return with this project.
"Certainly I haven't done an American action for awhile so I guess in that sense it's cool to be back with John Wick. A really cool, unique action movie with some soul," said the actor.
Reeves plays John Wick, a former hitman who goes after the person who killed his beloved dog after a home invasion.
The film was directed by first time film maker Chad Stahelski and producer David Leitch who are both former stuntman.
Willem Dafoe, who steps into the role of the villain, said the technique of shooting long takes worked.
