STORY: Bolivia's clear front-runner Evo Morales cast his vote on Sunday (October 12) in Chapare, Cochabamba.

Morales, a former coca farmer who became Bolivia's first indigenous leader in 2006, promises to expand social reforms in the Andean nation, historically one of Latin America's most unstable but which has enjoyed economic growth and relative calm under his presidency.

Opinion polls show the 54-year old as winning an outright first-round victory that will mark his third term at the helm and the longest serving Bolivian president in the country's history.
