Thomas Vermaelen trains apart from the group

Barcelona, Oct 9 (EFE).- Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen -the only player who, along with Luis Suarez and Jordi Masip, has not yet played with the Catalan team- was once again given specific work during the club's training session Wednesday morning. The Belgian transferred from Arsenal to Barça in August after the Spanish club paid the English team about 10 million euros. He was then injured, but seemed to have recovered at the end of September, when he was given the medical OK. Vermaelen was even able to play part of the friendly match against Indonesia's under-19 national team. However, he had a relapse that has since kept him from training with the rest of the group. Neither him nor Rafinha Alcántara worked out with their teammates Wednesday. Meanwhile, part of the squad was under the watchful eye of national coach Vicente del Bosque to prepare for the game against Slovakia the following day.
