Fence-jumper ran through main floor of White House - report

New reports suggest that the man who jumped the White House fence earlier this month actually got farther into the building than originally disclosed.

The Washington Post cited three people familiar with the incident, saying suspect Omar Gonzalez ran through much of the main floor...

... past the stairway leading up to the Obama's living quarters and into the East Room, where he was tackled by an agent.

The Post says an anonymous Secret Service official told them an alarm box near the front entrance of the White House had been muted.

Officials say Gonzalez was carrying a knife on the grounds.
