Baghdad blast in Shi'ite quarter kills at least 21

Death and devastation again on the streets of Baghdad.
This market in a Shi'ite neighbourhood was bustling when a car bomb exploded.
Several people were killed and scores wounded.
(SOUNDBITE)(Arabic) UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT SAYING:
"I do not know how the blast happened. Our neighbour is still missing and his family is still searching for him. What did we do to get killed?
Shops were turned to rubble and glass littered the streets.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT OF CITY, SAYING:
"Why is this happening to us? Why ? Because we are Muslims? because we are Shi'ites? No one cares about us! They just take a lot of money and then go. Leave us alone. You are not doing anything for us!"
Iraqi forces backed by US and French warplanes are battling Sunni fighters from the militant group Islamic State.
IS now stretches across large swathes of Iraq and Syria.
