Dunya News - Water level continues to rise at Guddu barrage; low-lying areas inundated

Ghotki (Dunya News) – After smashing settlements in Punjab the enraged waves of flood have now made their way into Sindh infuriating river Sindh. Water level at Guddu barrage is therefore rising constantly.

Dozens of villages of Ghotki and Pano Akil have submerged; houses of the residents caved in and they left their homes to save their lives.

Land communication of areas engulfed by flood water has completely been cut off.

Water torrent is also affecting Kashmoor whereas the water has entered many settlements Khairpur and Naushahro Feroze.

Water flow at Sukkur barrage has reached 178,000 cusec and hundreds of villages drowned in the flood water whereas the rescue and relief work has not been initiated by the Sindh government yet.

Water level at Punjnad Headworks is declining constantly but a large area of South Punjab is still immersed in water whereas the situation on Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Khangarh, Shujabad and Sultan city is as it is.

Dozens of villages in Thatta Sial, Muradabad and Bhattapur including Muzaffargarh are still under water.

Rupture of Noorwala Zimidara dyke in Uch Sharif caused 20 settlements to submerge in flood water.
