Park Street rape victim ostracised

The Kolkata Park Street rape survivor was allegedly barred entry by an upscale city eatery for being the victim of a crime. In return, the hotel has justified its decision claiming that she had earlier created trouble in the eatery. The incident is yet another reminder of the constant stigma inflicted on survivors of a heinous crime like rape. The victim on Monday (September 15) filed a complaint with the Kalighat police station over the incident.
