"THE CLASH" LIive in Italy 1980 (Exclusive) & "VIVIENNE WESTWOOD" by Fashion Channel -
The Clash inspired many musicians who were only loosely associated, if at all, with punk. The band's embrace of ska, reggae and England's Jamaican subculture helped provide the impetus for the 2 Tone movement that emerged amid the fallout of the punk explosion .They attracted a growing following by hitting a similar nerve, with songs like Clash City Rockers and White Man in Hammersmith Palais, railing against unemployment and social inequality. During the firsts exibitions in Italy, in Bologna and in Torino ( March 6th 1980 ) were we recorded this video, the members of the group were: Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon. Vivienne Westwood was deeply interested in the punk fashion phenomenon of the 1970s, saying "I was messianic about punk, seeing if one could put a spoke in the system in some way". The "punk style" included BDSM fashion, bondage gear, safety pins, razor blades, bicycle or lavatory chains on clothing and spiked dog collars for jewellery, as well as outrageous make-up and hair.
