Six more people have been detained in Turkey after ten workers were killed when an elevator plunged 32 floors at a construction site in Istanbul.

Five people were taken into custody on Tuesday, including one of the partners of the company which manufactured the lift.

Saturday’s accident prompted protests in Istanbul on Sunday and a government promise to review safety standards at work.

Turkey had the third worst rate of deadly workplace accidents in the world in 2012, according to the International Labour Organisation.
