Australian PM arrives in Malaysia for one-day visit

STORY: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott arrived in Malaysia for a state visit on Saturday (September 6).

Abbott was welcomed by his counterpart, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, in Malaysia's administration capital of Putrajaya.

Both sides are expected to discuss issues related to the search of missing Malaysia Airlines MH370 and the recent downing of MH17 in eastern Ukraine.

Australia is currently leading the search of flight MH370 that mysteriously disappeared on March 8 about an hour into a journey from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

More than two dozen countries have been involved in the air, sea and underwater search mission for the Boeing 777 that has been missing for nearly six months.
