Dunya News - Imran Khan couldn't produce a single evidence to prove election rigging: Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister for Planning Development and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal said on Wednesday that the allegation of manipulating election results is baseless, adding that publishing and distribution of ballot papers was Pakistan Army’s responsibility, Dunya News reported.
Iqbal said that opening four constituencies for investigation is not in the government’s jurisdiction, adding that only Election Tribunals are authorized to do that.
He said that those who term this parliament a parliament of thieves and looters faced the need to turn to the very same parliament to present their stance.
Federal Minister said Imran Khan should read the writing on the wall and announce to end the sit-in protest.
He said Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is the name of a political force and not of an unbridled Non-government Organization (NGO).
Iqbal said the way Qadri and Khan incited violence is unprecedented in democratic history. He said he and the nation has gotten tired of hearing the same lecture for the past fifteen days.
He said the allegation that Returning Officers (ROs) changed the election result is baseless, adding that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan couldn’t produce even a single evidence to prove his claims.
He said it was for the first time that all political parties were agreed on the Election Commission and that the steps taken before elections were also done with mutual consent.
Iqbal said that the commentators of European Mission termed election 2013 better than those of the past while the global commentators termed the election as transparent.
He alleged that Imran Khan couldn’t distribute the party tickets on merit and yet talks about merit and democracy.
He said PTI’s own committee ruled that tickets were distributed against money, adding that Imran Khan should get his own house in order before talking about democracy.
