Dunya News - Javed Hashmi announces to quit NA seat

President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Javed Hashmi on Tuesday announced his resignation from the National Assembly seat, Dunya News reported.
He announced the decision while addressing joint session of the parliament.
Addressing the National Assembly, Javed Hashmi said future of this country lies only in parliamentary democratic system and the upholding of 1973 constitution.
He said the parliament should be made more strong and meaningful for resolution of problems faced by the common men.
Giving his views on Model Town tragedy, Hashmi said strict action should be take against those involved in the killing of 14 protestors.
He said Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri once offered him to join his party but he turned down the offer.
About his rift with Imran Khan, he said the PTI Chairman had promised him that he will not go against the constitution, parliament and democracy.
He said that he has also made it clear to Imran Khan that forming a technocrat government does not come under the purview of the Supreme Court.
On the resignations of the PTI members from the National Assembly, Javed Hashmi disclosed that none of the member resigned from the seat happily. He said he had also asked Imran Khan not to put pressure on the members for resignations.
Concluding his speech, Javed Hashmi announced that he is ‘happily’ resigning from the National Assembly seat.
