Numerous foreigners among the casualties of Bolivian bus crash

Rescue crews worked frantically to extricate the victims of a deadly bus crash on a Bolivian highway.

At least ten people were killed and more than 20 injured when the bus overturned on a stretch of road about 180 miles south of La Paz.

The head of the local traffic department said many of the victims are foreigners.

"The people injured in this unfortunate event include 11 Bolivians and 11 foreigners: two Italians, one Indian, one Canadian, one Austrian, two Brazilians, two Germans and two Chileans. Regarding the people who died, there were two Bolivians and eight foreigners: three Italians, three Swiss, one Australian and one Peruvian."
