16 year-old Italian surfer Leonardo Fioravanti has won the Pantin Classic Galicia Pro, a 3 Star ASP World Qualifying event.
Coming off an impressive runner-up finish at the 5 Star Lacanau Pro only two weeks ago, Fioravanti made it one better to clinch his first ever WQS win, collecting the event’s only perfect 10 en route to victory.
Says Fioravanti: “This is crazy, I came here with a lot of confidence from my second place finish in Lacanau and it paid off. I could’t be happier. I want to dedicate this win to my mother, whose birthday it is today. I also wanted to say thanks to Jake Patterson who has been with me during the European leg and to Stephen Bell. Hopefully I can take this momentum into the Azores event as well. I can’t wait!”
With his recent results, Leo moves to the number one spot on the ASP European rankings with two events to go.
