At least six people are dead after a suicide bomber and Taliban gunmen attacked the Afghan intelligence agency in Jalalabad Saturday.

Heavy fighting continued between the militants and Afghan security forces hours after the attack.

Heath officials said in addition to the six casualties, 45 others were wounded.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.

The violence coincides with a political deadlock in the capital where rival presidential candidates have been unable to resolve months long disputes over election results.
