Turkish prime minister names new Cabinet with few changes

The new Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has announced his Cabinet.
There were few surprises, with Davutoglu keeping ministers loyal to the former prime minister, now president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The key members of the economic management team stay, signalling economic policy will continue in the same direction, seen as good news by investors.
The former European Union minister Mevlut Cavusoglu becomes foreign minister.
There is just one woman among the 26 members of the new government: Aysenur Islam and she gets the Family Minister portfolio.
Erdogan, who had been prime minister for 12 years was sworn in as president on Thursday, making him Turkey’s most powerful leader in recent times.
Euronews correspondent in Ankara says: “Davutoglu’s cabinet with a few changes represents continuity with the previous one. The new Prime Minister has set the goal of consolidating Turkey’s institutions first and than making the country an economic and political centre in the region.”
