STORY:On the Emmy red carpet on Monday (August 25) Chiwetel Ejiofor, Joanne Froggatt and Minnie Driver spoke about veteran film actor/director Richard Attenborough's influence on the greater British film community. "Well, it's tragic. You know, Richard Attenborough was not only, you know, a great actor, a great director, but he was just a great champion of so many causes including, of course, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. And I have so many friends and people who went there and whose lives he sort of personally touched and changed. So, I think it's a terrible, terrible shame," said Ejiofor. Attenborough died on Sunday (August 24) just days before his 91st birthday after a career in the film industry spanning over six decades.
