Director Besson praises Johansson in "Lucy", says action films bore him

French director Luc Besson has praised Scarlett Johansson for her performance as a blonde with a super-powered brain in his new film 'Lucy'.

She plays a woman who can stop traffic and move objects with her mind after a drug planted in her body causes her brain to operate at abnormally high levels, and eventually at 100 per cent capacity.

SOUNDBITE, Luc Besson, director, saying (English):

"I was very happy with the first meeting because she was on time (laughs), she has no make-up and she has no entourage, so she comes as a decent person and it was just about meeting and talking about the subject."

The film, which cost just 40 million dollars to make, has already turned a profit, having taken more than $128 million worldwide, according to Screen Daily -- and thats' with up to 44 territories yet to release it.
