"We never wanted to come here" says young Iraqi refugee

These are some of the latest victims... Iraqi refugees in Kurdistan, hiding from Islamic State militants who consider these young Yazidis to be "devil worshippers".

They're collecting whatever food they can from this UN agency, to share with their loved ones.

...Families who fled Mount Sinjar and the threat of being killed by radical Islamists.

(SOUNDBITE) (Kurdish) DISPLACED IRAQI BOY, FALEH, SAYING AS HE CRIES:

"We escaped from the land of my grandfather. It was a nice place in the village. We now have to be homeless here and we left our homes behind. We had no problems before, our house was very nice, we never wanted to come here."

The UN says many children show up here traumatized, exhausted, hungry and thirsty.

Fleeing was the only option

Just on Saturday, Islamic State insurgents "massacred" some 80 members of the Yazidi minority in a village in the country's north.
