Missouri protests calmer as state police takes over

A welcome change in Ferguson, Missouri.
Protests were boisterous but peaceful as demonstrators took to the streets for a fifth night over the killing of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen shot by police.
A big change after nights of unrest filled with violence and tear gas.
SOUNDBITE: CAPTAIN RON JOHNSON, MISSOURI HIGHWAY PATROL, SAYING:
"Say what you gotta say, just do it in peace."
The change came as Captain Ron Johnson of the Missouri Highway Patrol took over security after the governor stripped local police of their duty.
Instead of police in riot gear, Johnson and several other officers without body armor joined protesters in a peaceful march.

This as demonstrators from across the country showed their support by holding vigils and marches of their own.
More than 90 peaceful protests were held from New York's Times Square to San Francisco.
