Coroner says Robin Williams hanged himself at his California home

The Marin County Coroner's office says preliminary findings show Robin Williams hanged himself sometime between 10:30 Sunday night and 11:45 Monday morning.
Deputy Coroner Keith Boyd told reporters Williams was discovered by his personal assistant.
SOUNDBITE: MARIN COUNTY DEPUTY CORONER KEITH BOYD, SAYING:
"At that time, the personal assistant was able to gain access to Mr. Williams' bedroom and entered the bedroom to find Mr. Williams clothed, in a seated position, unresponsive, with a belt secured around his neck, with the other end of the belt wedged between the clothes closet door and the door frame."
All day, neighbors have been leaving flowers and notes in front of the Williams' Northern California home. Maria Nedir says she was proud to have him in the neighborhood.

"He was just a regular guy and nice to all the kids and moms and just a regular neighbor. No star status."
