Israel strikes Gaza after talks fail to extend truce

More air strikes on Gaza.

Video from the Israeli Defense Forces purports to show the moment of impact on a Hamas target, after Palestinians fired dozens of rockets into Israel.

This latest round of air strikes comes after Egypt-mediated talks to extend a 72-hour truce fell through.

At least five people were killed in the strikes.

For one man living in Gaza -- total loss.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) FATHER OF MAN KILLED IN AN ISRAELI AIRSTRIKE, MOHAMED ABUHADAF, SAYING:

"We were all sitting; my children were sitting on one side and me and my wife was sitting on the other side drinking tea, and then there was the strike. I saw only pieces of flesh. I couldn't differentiate between the bodies."

Hamas blames Israel for the failure of the talks.
