“Han Young-suk, Korea’s Last Great Dancer!”

Dancing is the most direct method of physical expression.
In dance, the emotions that run through our veins are transformed into true beauty through movement.
Korean dance contains the Korean spirit, which seeks to exist in harmony with nature.
Perhaps this is why Korean dance is so reminiscent of nature.

The tradition of Korean dance was in danger of flickering out throughout the Japanese colonial era.
Its survival is credited to someone who revived it in the face of extinction. Her name was “Han Young-suk.”

During the time when everything was uncertain, she devoted her life to preserving traditional Korean dance and nurturing students.

On this week’s “The Sensation,” we take a look at a life story of Korea’s great dancer who believed

that dance was not performed by the body but by the spirit.
