How Far Does a 300mm Telephoto Lens Zoom In-
- 10 years ago
A common question amongst people who are planning to buy a new DSLR telephoto lens, is how far can it zoom? I decided to create this video so you can clearly see the capabilities of the 55-300mm Lens that I had attached to my Nikon D3100.
The first part of the video was shot on a Samyang 8mm Fisheye lens to give you an idea of eye level and distance. The second part is shot with the kit lens 18-55mm which comes with most Nikon cameras that you buy. The final part of the video is shot on the 55-300mm Nikkor lens. I used three different lenses so you can see the distance from what you can see with the eye, versus what is available from the telephoto lens.
A helicopter came into view towards the end, which was great timing and allowed me to further show the coolness of this lens.
