Protesters across Europe denounce Israel's Gaza offensive

Cries of protest ring out across Europe Saturday, as the death toll in the 19-day conflict between Israel and Hamas militants surpasses one thousand.

In Paris, riot police are deployed as pro-Palestinian demonstrators defy a ban by French authorities.

At least one Israeli flag is burned.

In Frankfurt, hundreds gather in the central square.

One placard reads "Child Murderer Israel". A second reads, "Israel Bombards, Merkel Pays".

(SOUNDBITE) (German) PRO-PALESTINIAN DEMONSTRATOR, RADIR DASAN, SAYING:

"I am here to show that this massacre finally has to come to an end after 66 years. I would also like to make it very clear that we are not against Judaism but against Zionism. We know of course that not all Israelis agree with what is happening. We are here because we support human rights and because we finally want peace."

And in Geneva, Switzerland, some protesters carry a mock coffin with the names and photos of young Palestinians killed by Isra
