Costa Concordia heads for scrap

Costa Concordia is being towed away from the Italian island where it struck a rock and sank killing 32 people two-and-a-half-years ago.

A convoy of 14 vessels will escort the crippled vessel to a port near Genoa, where the former luxury liner will be broken up for scrap.

The ship’s captain, Francesco Schettino is currently on trial for manslaughter.
