Euthanasia comes from the Greek language and means ''Good Death“. Another word for euthanasia is “Mercy killing”. It is the end of an ill person’s life in a painless way.
The Supreme Court issued notice to states and Union Territories on a plea for legalizing passive euthanasia by allowing a person in a vegetative condition to die by withdrawing life support even the Center strongly opposed the petition saying it is a form of suicide which cannot be allowed in the country.
