Laura Dern was the main star at the closing ceremony of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

The "Jurassic Park" actor shook hands with fans before going on to hand out the award for best actor.

Dern looked on as dancers moved across the stage at a rather wet looking opening to the ceremony.

But the big winner on the night was the Georgian film "Corn Island", which picked up the Crystal Globe.

The movie was directed by George Ovashvili.

SOUNDBITE Film Director, George Ovashvili, saying (English):

"It's a big honour for me to be here and to get this great big award I really didn't expect, but I am happy, I am really glad."

"Corn Island" is a psychological drama based on a tiny island near the border between Georgia and the breakaway province of Abkhazia.

It follows an old peasant and his granddaughter trying to grow corn on the island between annual floods.

It's the second film Ovashvili has made that looks at the conflict b
