Touted as a tribute to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Alia Bhatt-Varun Dhawan starrer Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, has collected Rs. 9 crore on its opening day. Despite heavy rains, wow!
Hmm! This is by far the biggest opening the Varun has got after making his debut in Karan Johar's candyfloss college drama Student Of The Year and then tasting his second success in the form of papa David Dhawan's production Main Tera Hero.
Relying mainly on its witty dialogues and fabulous performances from the lead pair, the film completes a successful hat-trick for Alia Bhatt.
As for the Dhawan lad...Boy...we must say that he has finally arrived. The energetic dude has proved he has it in him to carry a film entirely on his shoulder. Numbers also suggest that HSKD is the seventh highest opening for the year 2014.
