American conductor Lorin Maazel has died

One of the most prominent American conductors, Lorin Maazel, has died aged 84.
Maazel was born in Paris and had conducted most of the major American orchestras before he turned 15.
As well as conducting, he composed music, and produced an opera based on George Orwell’s novel, 1984.
