Iraq’s former Minister of Science and Technology (2006-2010), Raed Fahmi analyses the current conflict in Iraq after the conquest of a large swath of the country’s north by ISIL jihadists. He explains that the jihadists took advantage of the power vacuum but sees no correlation between ISIL's ambitions and Kurdish aspirations for independence.
