Tom Crane goes to Edinburgh in search of an occult practitioner, only to find himself the centre of the devious schemes of others. Tom slowly begins to realise that he has certain psychic abilities while doing research on a story. Unbeknown to Tom, a secret government agency has been monitoring him. Once they begin to understand that Tom is gifted, they want to discover his full range of abilities and try luring him into working for them
