In his own words....

I grew up in a leafy part of Nottingham with my Mum, who was not that into music and my Dad; the big music lover and a Bob Dylan fanatic, to the point of mild obsession! He plays the piano, so from an early age I had piano lessons and learnt how music works. At the age of about 13, I picked up my Dad's old guitar and tried it out. I used to spend hours improvising and soloing to backing tracks in my bedroom at night. Not because I wanted to get better, but because I absolutely loved it. At 14 I formed a band with my geeky friends at school.
As I approached the end of University, my mind was set on 'changing the world'. I wanted to put my first class degree to use and do some good. I applied for an internship in Parliament, got it, and off I went to London. 3 days in, I get a message from one of my ideals in the UK music scene; Nick Brewer, asking if I want to join him and production team The Confectionery in what became a lasting friendship with both. For whatever reason, they absolutely loved my voice. This had a profound effect on me. No one had ever really taken me seriously; especially not as a solo artist. So I decided to take things a little more seriously. I started to go to the studio with Nick almost every week, giving me great practice with recording and writing on the spot. We built up a good working relationship, and started to do some gigs together as well and that pretty much takes us to the here and now.
