Dunya News-Malik Riaz vows to provide for 100k IDPs

Bahria Town chairman Malik Riaz on Sunday urged the government to give Bahria Town administration the responsibility of one lakh Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), vowing to arrange proper care. He said the government is doing its part but people have to step forward too, adding that over 55 thousand bags of food are ready, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Riaz said that supporting the brothers and sisters of North Waziristan is their duty, adding that the access to IDPs for support has not been provided to Bahria Town administration yet.
He urged the government to give access to the IPDs so that the relief work could begin, adding that his group is capable to take care of a hundred thousand people.
Malik Riaz said that a mobile hospital for medical facility of the IDPs is also arranged. He said that Bahria Town will assist in developing a model village in North Waziristan upon return of IDPs, adding that a field hospital and roads will also be constructed.
Bahria Town is known to offer contributions whether it’s a natural disaster or a crisis.
Malik Riaz said that food will supplied to the IDPs at their camps through the Bahria Dastarkhwan program. He said that medical facilities will also be provided to the IDPs.
Riaz said that Bahria Town administration will also arrange education facilities for the children stuck at the camps.
Earlier during the Tharparkar drought, Bahria Town administration had provided a relief package of 200 million rupees.
Riaz had also announced and provided relief to the affectees of Awaran earthquake including 300 houses of 10 marla to provide shelter to the affectees.
He had also played a role in securing freedom of Pakistan citizens held hostage by pirates.
Bahria Town had built and distributed shelters for flood affectees in South Punjab as well.
Bahria Town administration also runs a free Dastarkhwan program in various cities to provide two-times a day meal to the poor and hungry. This facility is benefited by over 35 thousand persons.
