Journey ends for Honduran children at home as U.S. gets tough on migrants

A grim journey comes to an end in Honduras as U.S. authorities get tough on migrants to stem the flood of undocumented children and their parents heading north for a better life.

With little economic opportunity at home and crime and murder a part of daily life, desperate parents say they have no choice but to flee for a shot at a better life in the U.S.

"Is it nice that your children are begging for food here and they don't find any. We went to there to find work, we went to the city to find work and they kill our kids. We left to find what they could give to our children because I don't even have a home. In the U.S. they detained me for 18 days, giving me food without salt, drinks without sugar."

Visiting Texas earlier in the week Honduran First Lady Ana Garcia de Hernandez, says its a journey with no happy ending.
