Pointe-Dénis Beach in Libreville, Gabon

This is video footage of the beaches in the Libreville/Gabon area. One of Libreville's 2 main beaches, the Pointe-Dénis Beach provides camping, in addition to regular beach activities and contains multiple lodges. The peninsula includes a 25-minute trip by ferry from the city port, as well as separates its estuary from its ocean. Upon the interior of the peninsula, this beach is very quiet and lined up with mansions, whereas the oceanside is naturally beautiful and more rugged. Libreville is located alongside a protected estuary with around twelve miles of beaches; its northern reaches are thought to be the safest for swimming. Their high yearly rainfall encourages the cultivation of tropical, lush vegetation even within the city, providing a consistent reminder of the jungle nearby.
