Yes, I cheated by shooting the Unholy Altar near the end at the beginning with the Thunderbolt. Yet I decided to leave it in as it proves that it is possible and it is rather simple to hit the Altar anyway (it didn't give me any advantages).
This is the level I think of when I question my liking for Spawns. A wall pushing the player into a room filled with explosive creatures that you have only a few seconds to fire at before they will all come flying at you. Definitely not my idea of a good time!
