Astronauts on the International Space Station will finally be able to have a decent cup of coffee, with the latest addition of the first espresso machine that can operate in zero gravity called the ISSpresso.

The machine was created by Italian espresso machine and coffee company Lavazza working with the engineering company Argotec.

It is currently undergoing testing, and with all the safety and backup components included, the final product will weigh around 44 pounds.

Italian astronauts have reportedly been complaining for years about the lack of espresso in space, because most of the drinks onboard the International Space Station come from a dried powder that is mixed with water.

Besides coffee, the machine will also be used to make tea, broth and other infusions.

If all the ISSpresso tests are successful, it will be installed on the International Space Station in November, which also happens to be the same month that the first Italian female astronaut is scheduled to arrive.
