Guatemalan migrant: "We're trying to go where God will allow us to"

Along the train tracks in Oaxaca, Mexico stands a sign showing migrants where they can find shelter.
Increasingly, it is children who come here as desperate parents from Central America take children on the dangerous journey towards the United States where they hope for a better life.
(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) UNIDENTIFIED MIGRANT MOTHER FROM EL SALVADOR, SAYING:
"It cost me a lot to be able to take a minor. It is very dangerous and it's been very difficult but with God's blessing we have arrived here. We have crossed rivers, we have crossed mountains. Everything's happened to us, we've been robbed. But thanks to God nothing serious has happened to us."
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says between October and May more than 47,000 unaccompanied minors crossed into the U.S. That's nearly double the number in the previous 12 months.
They leave home because they have run out of options.
