'Relative peace' of Afghan polls

Afghanistan's election commission says more than seven million turned out to vote in the second round of presidential elections.
There were no high profile militant attacks but hundreds of incidents involving rockets, explosives and gunfire.
These men in Herat province had their fingers cut off.
(SOUNDBITE)(Dari) AFGHAN VOTER SHARIF KHAN SAYING:
"We cast our vote and after going home the Taliban arrested us and took us away," THIS MAN SAYS. "As you can see they cut off our fingers because we had voted."
Counting is now underway after the polls on Saturday.
Outgoing President Hamid Karzai issued a statement on a social media website praising the turnout.
Although counting began immediately the polls closed it'll take some time to gather all the ballot boxes from the country's remoter corners.
Preliminary results aren't expected until July 2nd.
