The onslaught comes just days after Syrians went to the polls reelecting President Bashar al Assad by an overwhelming majority.
More footage appears to show smoke rising from the base.
The election in Syria won praise from Iran, Russia and the Lebanese based Hezbollah. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry described the vote as a "great big zero".
