Toilet Boiling Over - Return of the Turds

This isn't some third world country... this is good 'ol New Jersey USA.

Every time it rains hard, the sewer backs up as both drain and sewage drains share the main drain pipes. If you're wondering why I didn't rotate the video, just remind yourself what I do for a living.

As building superintendent, I deal with this scenario a dozen times a year. This building is almost 100yrs old and the pipes are clogged and fragile. I hear from other supers in the area that this is a regular occurrence. So, hug your super today, sometimes they deserve it.

As a general rule of thumb, some owners don't want to spend a lot of money on property. To deal with budget constraints, sometimes you need to be a little creative around maintenance issues. Unfortunately, many landlords also have to regularly deal with tenants not paying and vandalism, and it happens more often than you might think.

This also creates some opportunities for businesses and workers who find a niche and can adapt. but in general the profit margins for landlords are small. I've seen walls with holes the size of stop sign punched right through, extreme pest infestations from tenant habits and conditions and damaged infrastructure

I'll be sure to keep my phone and camera handy next time I come across something (or someone) nutty.
