U.S. President Barack Obama, flanked by parents of released soldier Bowe Bergdahl, said "While Bowe was gone, he was never forgotten," on Saturday (May 31) from the Rose Garden at the White House.

Obama said the U.S. has an ironclad commitment to bringing soldiers home, adding that he will never give up the search for missing soldiers, and is committed to returning unfairly detained Americans.

The father of the released soldiers also spoke, saying that the complicated nature of his son's recovery will never really be comprehended. He thanked the military and the Qatar for their efforts to help return his son.
