Guinea's health officials already have a difficult job keeping their population healthy. But they are now facing a new deadly opponent. Ebola.

The capital Conakry has recorded its first new ebola case in more than a month.

That brings the number of new cases in the country to at least fourteen since May 23rd.

(SOUNDBITE) (French) DOCTOR ABOUBAKAR SIDIKI DIAKITE, PRESIDENT OF THE GUINEAN GOVERNMENT'S COMMITTEE TO FIGHT AGAINST EBOLA, SAYING:

"If we look at different areas where infection can easily appear, like the morgue in mosques, that's a place where contamination can happen, which completely escapes health controls. Also when you look at bus stations, given people's movements, that's also a place we need to get to better grips with. We must send out a strong signal to all people involved in spreading the disease."
