Dardenne brothers up for third Palme d'Or

It's a strong competition for this year's Palme d'Or at Cannes.

But there are some contenders who already know how it feels to win the festival's big prize - including the Dardenne brothers.

The duo have won twice before and they're up for a third Palme d'Or with the film "Two Days, One Night".

It stars Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard, which is an unusual step for the brothers, as it's the first time they've used a big star in a movie.

SOUNDBITE Director, Luc Dardenne, saying (French):

"We knew that Marion wanted to become Sandra and that she had her own way to do it, which is not our business. We just had the desire -- and we manage to do that thanks to rehearsals -- to make her enter our world , if I can say, and let her bring the most she could to it."

The film sees Cotillard's character try to convince her work colleagues to forego their bonuses so she can keep her job.

And the actress says she worked hard to make her character credible.
