Anxious mother in Nigeria appeals for daughter's return

This is the home of one of the kidnapped school girls in Nigeria. She is among hundreds held captive by Boko Haram militants.

Her mother Rachel Daniel is urging the government to release prisoners in exchange for their release.

(SOUNDBITE) (Haas) MOTHER OF ABDUCTED GIRL, RACHEL DANIEL, SAYING:

"Why should the president say he will not release the Boko Haram prisoners? Please, he should release them so that our daughters can be released too, or that means he doesn't care about our children even if they are killed? Or, is it because all is fine with him and family?"

Daniel is a widow who does menial jobs to make money to take care of her six children.

She had bought gift items to surprise her daughter when she came home from school. But her daughter never returned -- she was taken by militants last month.

In Lagos they are appealing to a higher power.
