Julio Iglesias receives 'Most Successful Latin Artist' award

Veteran Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias was presented with an award to honour a career that has spanned nearly half a century and seen him sell over 300 million records on Monday (12 May).

Sony Music presented the 70 year old singer with 'The Most Successful Latin Artist of All Time' award at a news conference in London.

Although he is one of the best selling artists in the world, has won several awards, Iglesias was humble about his success.

"I think there is many different artists, not only Latinos, who represent music all over the world as much as I do. The only main difference is that I am 70 years old, and I'm thinking for the future."

During an interview with Reuters, he emphasised his undying passion for music.

Iglesias is scheduled to perform in England, Ireland, America and Mexico in May.
