On April 29, Eastman was recognized with an ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award at the annual ceremony hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The ceremony, held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., recognized 127 organizations for their commitment to protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency. Eastman is the first chemical company to be recognized with the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award, following two consecutive years as ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in 2012 and 2013.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Costa accepted the award on behalf of Eastman. Also in attendance from Eastman were Godefroy Motte, SVP and Chief Regional and Sustainability Officer; Mark Cox, SVP and Chief Manufacturing and Engineering Officer; Burt Capel, VPGM, Specialty Plastics; Etta Clark, VP, Global Public Affairs and Policy; Joe Davis, VP, HSES and Assistant General Counsel; Parker Smith, VPGM, Worldwide Manufacturing Support and Quality; Sharon Nolen, Superintendent, Energy Management and Distribution; Lisa Lambert, Tennessee Site Energy Coordinator; and Amanda Allman, Corporate Communications Representative.

While the team was honored to attend the ceremony, this is a celebration for all Eastman team members. The award is a result of the hard work and commitment the men and women of Eastman display every day.

Prior to the ceremony, Costa participated in a panel discussion with senior leaders from CalPortland, General Motors, Hanesbrands, and Saint-Gobain as part of a smaller recognition ceremony for Industrial Program members. The panelists discussed the challenges facing their respective industries, business impact of sustainability trends, the importance of sustainability to stakeholders, and expectations for their energy management programs in the future.
