Three foreigners were killed on Thursday (April 24) when a security guard opened fire at an international hospital in the Afghan capital, Kabul, security sources said.
An Interior Ministry official confirmed the deaths of three foreign nationals and said a member of the hospital medical staff had been wounded, adding that the gunman was also wounded and in police custody.
No further details were available.
Thursday's shooting occurred in the grounds of the Cure Hospital which specialises in children's and maternal health.
It is considered one of the country's leading hospitals as well as being a training institution.
The hospital in the west of the city confirmed the attack, but provided no further details.
It is the latest of a series of attacks against foreign civilians.
